Demi Garcia cajón

Demi Garcia Sabat

Cajón workshop with Demi Garcia Sabat. This 5-day workshop will enable students to work on a different palo every day and focus on technique and rhythm exercises to improve the pulse. On the last day, everyone will play all the palos that were taught during the workshop – accompanied by a professional Flamenco guitarist. Playing alongside a guitarist is particularly important in understanding how the rhythms work with the guitar.
Day 1: Basic Technique. Cajón and Palmas sounds. Tangos.
Day 2: Singles and Doubles Technique. Buleria.
Day 3: Subdivisions. Crotchets, Quavers, Triplet, Semiquavers. Sevillanas.
Day 4: Contras with Palmas. Rumba.
Day 5: Play all palos with professional guitarist.
Time: 6.30-9.30pm each day
Cost: £150 + £3 hire cajon (or single days can be booked for £30 per day)

Maria Juncal

Intensive dance technique with Maria Juncal and Cristina Otera from Jerez de la Frontera. This course will focus on the co-ordination of different parts of the body and consolidation of concepts which are fundamental for flamenco dance. Each class is restricted to 15 students so book early to be sure of your place.
Time: 10am-2pm each day.

First in a series of monthly intensive dance workshops with Maria Vega. A different theme in every class. Maria will help you explore technique and choreography including footwork, hips, shoulders, arms and hands movements. Each month there will be a focus on a different flamenco style (palo). This month will focus on Bulerias.
10.00-11.00am: Beginners (£16)
11.00am-12.30pm: Intermediate (£19)
12.30-2.00pm: Advanced (£19)

Flamenco Bootcamp with Roshanne de Silva Wijeyeratne. Enrol for individual days or for the whole Bootcamp. A unique experience and a brilliant way to boost or drill your Flamenco skills to their maximum potential in a short space of time. Developed by Roshanne in Spain & Australia, the Flamenco Bootcamp provides multi-levelled, high energy training where dancers of every level (above total beginner) will be pushed to develop technique and stamina over consecutive sessions while also learning diverse and dynamic patadas por bulerías. Comprehensive training covers multi-leveled footwork, armwork and hands, body movement work that looks at extension and range, marcaje, various styles of turns and patadas por bulerías that are designed to work the entire body using different levels.
Friday 4 October: 6.00-7.30pm
Saturday 5 October: 4.30-6.00pm
Sunday 6 October: 4.30-6.00pm
Cost: £20 for one session if paid by 23 September (£60 for three sessions), or £25 for one session if paid on the day.
