Lourdes Fernandez

Flamenco Meets Maqam. An exciting evening inspired by the origins of the Spanish guitar. The project is powered by four artists whose backgrounds reflect the rich musical exchanges between the Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Iberian worlds: guitarist Ignacio Lusardi Monteverde, Turkish oud artist and composer Baha Yetkin, percussionist Demi García Sabat and flamenco dancer Lourdes Fernández. An evening to listen, feel and discover how seemingly different musical worlds can meet, interact and create something new.

Flamenco Loco: Bristol-based collective with Cuffy Cuthberson on guitar and Jaime Cantera on vocals and percussion. Rooted firmly in the rich traditions of flamenco, the group takes the music in their own direction, weaving in original compositions alongside the heady, groove-driven spirit of ’70s flamenco fusion.

Mario Ruiz

Fin de Fiesta’ brings you ‘Back to Flamenco’ featuring dancer Mario Ruiz. Dance class, show and juerga or just come for the show and juerga.
• 6.00-7.30pm: Tangos dance class taught by Mario accompanied by guitarist Bryan Reyes and vocalist Laura González. No flamenco shoes or experience needed. Everyone welcome!
• 8.15-9.30pm: The show. Witness Mario’s magic on stage; flamenco from the roots, fierce, raw and full of character. Joining him is London talent, vocalist Mónica García, guitarist Adrián Solá, and percussionist Agoney Hernández.
• 9.30pm-0.30am: Jam and juerga. The floor is open. Musicians can play alongside the artists you have just seen on stage, dancers can try out their new pataíta, singers can jump in … and everyone else can simply enjoy the beautiful chaos.

Peña Flamenca de Londres presents their twice-yearly Juerga for those who want to gain experience performing on stage with professional musicians. Open to dancers, musicians and singers. Reasonably priced food and drinks available.

Flamenco Guitar with Samuel Moore. Samuel is one of the few guitarists worldwide to continue the tradition of presenting solo flamenco concerts. His extensive solo repertoire encompasses traditional flamenco forms, original compositions, and masterworks written by flamenco legends such as Ramón Montoya, Sabicas, and Paco de Lucía. Samuel learnt his craft as a one-to-one student of the flamenco guitarists Juan Martín and Grisha Goryachev.

José Almarcha and Lucia Ruibal

Peña Flamenca de Londres welcomes back José Almarcha Flamenco Trio featuring guitarist José Almarcha, dancer Lucía Ruibal and percussionist Demi García Sabat. José Almarcha is a superb guitarist and composer from Ciudad Real. Lucía Ruibal is an accomplished dancer from El Puerto de Santa María near Cádiz. Demi García Sabat is a versatile flamenco percussionist and a well-known London-based musician. Reasonably priced food and drinks available. José will also be teaching a masterclass in the afternoon before the show for flamenco guitarists seeking to improve their skills.
