Alkemi

ALKEMI, a dialogue of cultures. Maria de Huelva performs a largely biographical repertoire blending Spanish folk and flamenco with the rubab, the national instrument of Afghanistan. Actively performing as a guitarist, singer, and taborer, she brings spontaneity and joy to traditional celebrations across Spain and the UK. The evening is organised by Pulse and Pickle which aims to bring people together from different backgrounds around a communal vegan dinner.
Time: 7.30-10.00pm

El Día de Andalucía

Celebrate El Dia de Andalucia with live music and sevillanas. Andalusia day is celebrated in the south of Spain on 28 February and commemorates a referendum that took place in 1980 giving the region its autonomy. This is the perfect opportunity to dress in your feria best, practice and perfect your sevillanas, or just freestyle it with rumba, rumba, rumba. The event is sponsored by SpainTransport.

Juerga

Peña Flamenca de Londres presents their twice-yearly Juerga for those who want to gain experience performing on stage with professional musicians. Open to dancers, musicians and singers. Reasonably priced food and drinks available.
Time: Doors open 7.00pm for 7.45pm start
Cost: £17 or £10 if a member. Performers £7 contribution towards costs. Tickets are sold on the door.

Solera: brought to you by the Paco Peña Flamenco Dance Company. ‘Solera’ is used to describe the mixing of the qualities of new and older wines to create finer blends. In this performance, young flamenco artists join more mature and experienced performers to explore the full range of flamenco palos.

Paco de Lucía

Paco de Lucía Legacy: Revolution from Tradition. A tribute performance celebrating Paco de Lucía’s most revolutionary work, the second sextet, with which he redefined flamenco in his final years. The performance features both a contemporary reinterpretation of his classic repertoire and original compositions that highlight Paco de Lucía’s musical and artistic legacy carried forward by new generations. The show features David de Jacoba, original member of Paco de Lucía’s septet, guitarist Josemi Carmona, pianist Chano Domínguez and other guest artists such as vocalist Sandra Carrasco.
